Astanga yoga workshops are suitable for both beginners and advanced students. They follow Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras’ well-known eight limbs of yoga philosophy (astau – eight; anga – branch, leg, limb), taught in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya and K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India.
Petri and Wambui’s aim is to teach his students in a peaceful, individualised way while keeping to the powerful, disciplined and traditional practice of physical and mental development. The student achieves a sense of wholeness through the practice of poses (asanas), energy-enhancing breathing (uijayi- pranayama), and gazing points (drishti) and energy locks/muscle control (bandhas), which leads to deep concentration (pratyahara) and meditation (dhyana).
